Qi Gong (movement)

Qi Gong (pronounced “chee gong”) is one of the five core branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It works to strengthen and balance one’s energy (or life-force “Qi”) through movement. Like all TCM, it benefits the mind, body, and spirit and is an excellent form of stress relief. Qi Gong uses gentle movement and deep breathing to cultivate a meditative state of mind to unblock Qi. Silicon Valley Health incorporates Qi Gong into our prescription for lifestyle changes, especially for patients who would benefit most from gentle exercise. We can refer patients to local Qi Gong masters.
